History of Pashan Lake
Built In- 1867-68
The Pashan Lake was built during British rule to help fulfill the water requirements for the region. Ram Nadi supplies the water to the lake, the lake covers an area of 40 km.
The lake is the water source for the residents of Pashan Lake and growing crops. With the recent urbanization and pollution, the quality of the lake has deteriorated. Pashan Lake attracts migratory birds and is a popular destination for bird watching for visitors.
The Municipal Corporation of Pune has built a footpath, called the nature trail along the lake. The 300 m footpath was constructed along the western shore of the lake.

Railway – The nearest station to Pashan Lake is the Pune station. The lake is situated on the HH Prince Aga Khan in Sangamvadi. The Pune railways are connected through the cities in India. Cab and public transportation are available to reach Pashan Lake.
